KUALA LUMPUR: The epic action adventure Transformers: Age Of Extinction has been dubbed in Bahasa Malaysia, voiced by celebrities from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. It will premiere on HBO/HBO HD (Astro channel 411/431) this Hari Raya on July 17 at 9pm.
The line-up of multi-talented celebrity voice talents includes Fahrin Ahmad as Cade Yeager; Singaporean Hisyam Hamid as Optimus Prime; Sharnaaz Ahmad as Galvatron; Radio ERA’s Ray as Hound; Izzue Islam as Drift; Radio ERA’s Haniff Hamzah as Ratchet; Akim Ahmad as Crosshairs; Hazama Ahmad as Lockdown; and Nabil Ahmad as Brains.
It also features Faizal Ismail as Joshua Joyce; Ayai Illusi as Harold Attinger; Ayda Jebat as Tessa Yeager; Syafiq Kyle as Shane Dyson; Syazwan Zulkifly as James Savoy; Scha Al-Yahya as Darcy Tirrel; Elizabeth Tan as Su Yueming; and Fakhrul Razi from Brunei as Lucas Flannery.
“Transformers: Age Of Extinction was selected as it’s the top grossing movie, both in Malaysia and globally last year,” said HBO Asia sales and affiliate marketing head Jacelyn Kek.
“This is the first time HBO Asia, together with Astro, is dubbing a live action movie in local language, following the success with our celebrity dubs of past animations including Despicable Me 2 and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
“We’re thrilled to be presenting Transformers: Age Of Extinction in Bahasa Malaysia together with HBO Asia this Hari Raya Aidilfitri in our efforts to offer more localised content featuring famous homegrown and regional celebrities,” said Astro English Language Business senior assistant vice president Junaidah Said Khan.
Transformers: Age Of Extinction begins after an epic battle left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs.
With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.
From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg, Transformers: Age Of Extinction stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Li Bingbing, among others.
Adding to the excitement, the movie’s Bahasa Malaysia celebrity voice cast will make special weekend appearances at HBO Asia’s roadshow, where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee mascots will also be present for fans to photograph.
It will take place on July 10 till 12, from 10am to 10pm at Sunway Pyramid, LG2 Blue Concourse. All are encouraged to post their roadshow experience using the hashtag #HBOTransformersMY.
