ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 35-year-old Indonesian labourer was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Kangkar Pulai, near here last night.

Police believe that he was killed by four of his countrymen over a jealousy dispute.

District Police chief Superintendent Noor Hashim Mohamad said the victim, known only as Miswandi was found lying face-up in a pool of blood near the single-storey terrace house in Taman Sri Pulai where the incident occurred.

Police received a call on the incident about 9pm and rushed to the scene.

A team comprising district police and state Criminal Investigation Department officers arrested five Indonesian men in connection with the case about 12.15am today.

A sixth Indonesian suspect was later arrested about an hour later.

“All the suspects, aged between 25 and 36, work as construction labourers.

“Initial investigations on the incident suggest it may have been due to jealousy and a fight over a woman,” said Hashim.-NST
