Azmin should study Malaysia Agreement: Santubong

LUNDU: PKR deputy president Azmin Ali should study the Malaysia Agreement first before making a statement related to Sarawak’s rights, said Santubong member of parliament Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar today.

He said the agreement cemented in 1963 secured the state’s rights on immigration.

“The state belongs to Sarawakians.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem is only realising the aspiration of the people in the state. This has been stated in the agreement.

“Azmin needs to study the agreement first and understand history before making any statements.

“If he still doesn’t understand, then he needs to refer to the law experts on this,” said Junaidi at the Surau Al-Amin ground-breaking ceremony in Kampung Stunggang Melayu Baru here.

Junaidi, who is also the Natural Resources and Environment Minister said the opposition should follow the way politics is conducted in Sarawak, if they wanted to campaign here.

“If you come here to campaign then you should follow the way of politics here. “We did not create trouble or blindly accuse people without knowledge,” Junaidi said.-nst
