Crowds build up at KLIA as aerotrains stop working

PETALING JAYA: Passengers at the KL International Airport (KLIA) were temporarily stranded at the main terminal building when the aerotrains to the satellite terminal stopped functioning Friday morning.

According to a passenger, many were gathered at the terminal waiting for the aerotrains to arrive.

The passenger, who did not want to be named, also said that the escalators were not functioning.

In a tweet, the Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) said that their aerotrains were undergoing corrective maintenance.

They added that bus services were available to ferry passengers to their respective terminals.

Passengers on international flights have also been advised to head to the airport early.

They also requested passengers to proceed straight to the bussing lounge for connecting services to the satellite building. Passengers can use the escalators next to the aerotrain station to head down to the bussing lounge.

“Please do not hesitate to approach our information counters for assistance. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” it said.-thestar
