MALACCA: A large “Don’t Mess with Malacca” billboard collapsed and fatally crushed a motorcyclist along Jalan Limbongan here this morning.

A police source said the motorcyclist was stopping at the Pokok Mangga – Jalan Klebang traffic light junction when he was struck by the advertisement board that collapsed following strong winds and rain in the 7.15am incident.

“The advertisement board was on the left side of the road when it collapsed and hit the motorcylist. He died on the spot.

“A post mortem was carried out at about 10.30am,” said the police spokesman. The victim was identified as Ahmad Yusop Omar, 64, a security guard from Taman Tangga Batu, Tanjung Keling.-nst
