Two plead guilty to Puchong Movida attack

PETALING JAYA: A factory operator and an unemployed man today pleaded guilty at the Session Court to attempting to murder eight people at the Movida Pub in Puchong and also for possession of a hand grenade.

Imam Mahyudin Karjono, 20, and Jonius Ondie @ Jahali, 24, pleaded guilty to committing all nine offences of bombing the pub, injuring the eight people and possession of the hand grenade at Lot G2 & 3, Ground Floor, IOI Boulevard, Jalan Kenari 5 in Bandar Puchong about 2am on June 28.

Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh fixed Sept 21 for sentencing and denied bail for the duo. Earlier, Imam and Jonius were also charged in the magistrate’s court with supporting terror activities for hurling a hand grenade and injuring eight people at the Movida Pub on June 28.

Imam Mahyudin, who is unemployed, was also charged with spreading terror ideology through the Telegram application at his home at C-4-19, Block Chempaka, Jalan Indah 1, Puchong Indah in Puchong between March 25 and June 28.

For the terrorism-related charges, no plea was recorded.

Magistrate Zaki Asyraf fixed Sept 26 for mention. The cases in both courts were prosecuted by Selangor head of prosecution Roland Mat Nor. Both Imam Mahyudin and Jonius were unrepresented.-nst
