Family of four killed in crash near Tanjung Malim

HULU SELANGOR: A family of four were killed in a multi-vehicle crash along KM405 of the North-South Expressway, near Tanjung Malim.

District police chief Supt R. Supramaniam said a distress call was received at about 1.35am Tuesday, alerting authorities to the fatal accident.

The cars involved in the crash were a Proton Suprima, a Honda Stream, a Nissan Frontier and a Perodua Axia.

Supt Supramaniam said the victims were travelling in the Honda Stream.

He said one of the victims, who perished at the scene, was marine police officer Ahmad Faizal Abdul Rahim, who had been stationed at the Muar headquarters in Johor.

The other deceased were a woman, 34, and two children – an eight-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy. Their identities are currently unknown.

Two other men were also injured in the accident, while six people escaped unscathed.

Supt Supramaniam said police are still investigating the cause of the accident.-thestar
