KUALA LUMPUR: Badminton hero Datuk Lee Chong Wei is the latest to put on the #AnakAnakMalaysia wristband ahead of the National Day.

Lee, who arrived home from the Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Wednesday, sportingly put on the wristband, joining thousands of other Malaysians who have joined the programme.

The wristband was presented to the three times Olympic silver medalist by Star Media Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai on Thursday evening.

Wong also presented a framed page one cover of last Sunday’s The Star newspaper with the heading “Three Silvers But You Are Pure Gold.”

On Thursday, a group of Penangites hosted Lee to a dinner at Bangsar Shopping Centre here.

Lee won a silver medal in the recent Olympics men’s singles finals. The other silver medals were won by the Malaysian men’s doubles and mixed doubles pairs.-thestar
