Dr Vida ends Red Warrior ties

BEAUTY products entrepreneur Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, better known as Dr Vida, has decided to stop sponsoring the Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors football team next season, reported Harian Metro.

Hasmiza said being a sponsor for any sports activities, especially football, was no longer a priority after this.

“I have done a lot for the Red Warriors squad but it is very disappointing, especially its performance. Apart from having to spend a lot of money, I have also been mocked on social media after getting involved in football.

“There were many things that people have said, some stinging comments and it hurts, especially after what I have done for the team,” she added.

> A 31-year-old woman is determined to complete her degree despite having been admitted to the intensive care unit more than 70 times, reported Harian Metro.

Juliza Ameruddin suffers from chronic asthma and has been admitted into the ICU 73 times over the past six years.

“I was ‘imprisoned’ for two years at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital without being allowed to go home,” she said.

Juliza hopes she can complete her degree in computer science, which she started at Universiti Malaysia Pahang seven years ago.

She has had to postpone the completion of her degree several times due to her frequent visits to the hospital.

Between 2011 and 2013, Juliza said she was like a newborn child in hospital as she could not take care of herself. “I had to completely rely on the nurses and my mother,” she said.-thestar
