SEREMBAN: An eight year-old girl was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on with her mother was hit by a car at Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1 here last night.

Dania Nur Fatihah Rizal, from Taman Tasik Jaya, died at Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (TJH) at 5am due to internal injuries.

Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Zaki Harun said Dania was on her way home to
Apartment Seroja Taman Tasik Jaya with her mother, Norazalia Suliman, 36, when the 9.30pm accident occurred.

“Norazalia was switching lanes, but the car behind her failed to notice and avoid her in time. The impact flung Dania from the motorcycle,” he said.

“Both mother and daughter suffered various injuries and were rushed to TJH.

Dania, however, succumbed to her injuries this morning, while her mother is still being treated at the hospital for a broken spine and hip,” he said.

The car’s driver, Mohamad Hafizie Mazlan, 22, suffered light injuries. Muhammad Zaki said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. -nst
