Female directors of motorcycle company face multiple charges of not declaring GST

GEORGE TOWN: A motorcycle components company and its two female directors were charged today with non-declaration of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) over an eight-month period.

Faito Racing Trend Sdn Bhd, Teoh Chin Ching, 65, and Teoh Wee Let, 37, faced eight charges each for their offences before Sessions Court Judge Ibrahim Osman.

Chin Ching and Wee Let pleaded not guilty to the eight charges each, allegedly committed between April and September 2015, as well as between November and December 2015.

The duo were accused of committing their offences at the GST, registration and revenue collection sections at the state Customs Complex in Seberang Jaya at Lot 5492, Jalan Perpustakaan, Lebuh Tenggiri, Seberang Jaya.

Both are liable to a maximum RM50,000 fine or three years jail, or both, under Section 41(6) of the GST Act 2014 upon conviction.

They were unrepresented while Customs prosecutor Abd Malik Awang Kechik prosecuted.

Ibrahim fixed mention on Nov 17 for both women to appoint lawyers and for document submission.-nst
