Wife and mother of Eimarace crash victims calls for justice

KUANTAN: Siti Suhaiza Seman, whose husband and daughter were killed in the deadly Innovation Motorsports Automotive Race (Eimarace) buggy crash on Sunday, has called for justice for her loved ones.

The 38 year-old said the justice she is seeking is not meant to punish, but to serve as a lesson to the organisers for neglecting safety requirements.

“This catastrophic loss of my husband and daughter occurred as a result of negligence.

“Although I accept this as fate, I really hope that such an incident will never happen again.

Therefore, I will leave this matter to the respective parties to help me get justice,” she said, when met at her house in Taman Astana Permai here.

Suhaiza said in future, security measures must be put in place for the sake of the public who watch races.

During the Eimarace held at Jalan Sukpa in Indera Mahkota here, Suhaiza’s husband Izwan Isa, 39, and five year-old daughter, Nurzulaikha, were killed after one of the competing vehicles veered off the track and into spectators.

Her son was badly injured. Earlier, Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Muttalib visited Suhaiza and presented financial aid of RM1,500 from the Social Security Organisation (Socso).-nst
