Kit Siang dismisses Red Shirts’ assertion of link to Soros

GEORGE TOWN: DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has denied any link to Hungarian-American philanthropist George Soros.

Lim said he has seen pictures of placards distributed by the Red Shirt group during their rally outside online news portal MalaysiaKini’s building in Petaling Jaya, which depict him and the billionaire investor as the puppet masters of Bersih chairman Maria Chin Abdullah.

He said the image, which implies that he is linked to the business magnate and is controlling Bersih, is a lie on multiple levels.

“I don’t know him (George Soros), I don’t have money to sponsor programmes, and Bersih is not a DAP puppet.

“This is the lie that we must face. We have faced multiple lies in the last 50 years and we will face more in the coming 50 years,” he said during his speech at the DAP convention today.-nst
