Najib in Johor for two-day visit, itinerary packed with launching ceremonies and meet-the-people session

KULAI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has arrived at the Senai International Airport here at 10.35pm on his two-day visit to Johor.

He was greeted at the airport by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin as well as several state Exco members and government officials.

A prayer was recited by Kulai district Kadi Sulaiman Maidin upon Najib’s arrival.

Najib is expected to visit Petronas’ Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) tomorrow morning.

Later, he will launch the upcoming Larkin Arena sports complex and Seri Austin Sport City projects at an event which will be held at the Tan Sri Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin, here.

This is followed by a tahlil at the state police headquarters’ mosque which will be attended by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and members of the royal family.

The prayers will also commemorate the one year passing of Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim.

Najib is then expected to attend a meet-the-people session at the hip Kilang Bateri mall in Jalan Tampoi here at night.

On Tuesday, he will attend the signing ceremony on strategic initiatives and the grand opening of the Forest City Phoenix Hotel in Gelang Patah before launching the FASTrack City Project at Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios.

Next, the prime minister will then launch the 10th anniversary celebration of Iskandar Malaysia over lunch at the EduCity Sports Complex before attending his last function in Johor at the Khazanah Nasional Bhd Retreat at Hotel Jen in Puteri Harbour.-nst
