Memorandum to Anwar Ibrahim to repent taken out of context

An issue that got stirred by a memorandum to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to repent was taken out of context by PKR as a move to destroy the party.
In truth, those who took the action just wanted the party’s leadership to open their eyes of the impending destruction that the organisation is facing.

It is immaterial who is behind the move or how many took part in issuing the memorandum because according to one of the participants,
Adam Haris Abdullah, there are just two alternatives PKR leadership should do now; either repent or face destruction.

Adam Harris is the party’s Kuala Kangsar Youth wing deputy head.

“As a member of the party since the ‘Reformasi’ days; who had sacrificed and struggled for PKR through demonstrations and a lot more.
I see the party is veering away from its initial fight, the fight for the people and upholding democracy. “Now the fight is more towards individual interests rather than for the people or democracy.

Just look at the divisional polls recently, jostling for posts led to dirty politics being involved,” Adam Haris told Peraknews.com recently.

The main cause of this problem, Adam Haris added, are individuals who aspire to hold the various state and federal posts in the party’s anticipated big win in the coming 13th general elections.

However, there is no democracy in the party that profess to give total rights back to the people because according to Adam Harris, PKR is now a dictatorship; not by Anwar but Azmin Ali, the party’s number two aspirant.

“Most of the unpleasant and shameful occurrences during the recent divisional polls are caused by factions close to Azmin so that he could be the party’s number two, and subsequently the country’s number two when Pakatan wins the 13th general elections.

“Anwar is aware of this and he did nothing. I’m also sure he knows that many party members are not supporters of Azmin,” Adam Haris said.

The actions taken by Azmin, have created serious rifts among members, and many are becoming disillusioned by the party’s directions. Thus, the only way to wake the PKR top leader up was to send the memorandum.

“There are claims saying there were only five of us, not 60 like we said, who sent the memorandum to the party’s headquarters, but did any of those who claimed as such were there when we handed the document?

“It’s becoming the party’s culture to blame external influences, mostly UMNO and the BN for PKR maladies, but the truth is, the rot is from the inside,” Adam Haris said.

The ‘Repent Anwar’ memorandum, Adam Haris added, has nothing to do with the sodomy trial faced by the PKR leader. He further said he is ready for a lot of flak when this story comes out because he is already marked as a black sheep in the party.

“There will be claims saying that I am no longer a party member and have no rights to say anything on PKR, let me challenge them; I am still Kuala Kangsar division deputy youth chief.

“By order of the PKR headquarters, this year’s Kuala Kangsar youth wing AGM was postponed until December, and until that time I still hold the post legitimately,” Adam Haris said.

He urged the PKR leadership not to misinterpret him as his actions were based on his love and for the good of the party. All he wanted to do was to put the party back on its original track.
