Floods: Perak Sends Clean Water Supply To Kedah, Perlis

IPOH, Nov 5 (Bernama) — The Perak government on Friday send humanitarian aid, comprising food items, drinking water and clean water supply to Kedah and Perlis which are badly affected by the floods.

Menteri Besar Perak Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said nine lorry tankers from the Perak Water Board and two lorries from a mineral water factory in Taiping, Spritzer, left for Kedah at 9am Friday with the supply of clean water and drinking water.

“The Kedah Menteri Besar contacted me last night and I feel that it is our responsibility to offer our assistance,” he told reporters here Friday.

He said the state government also sent a lorry tanker with clean water supply to Perlis.

“Water supply in Kedah and Perlis has been contaminated due to the floods,” he added.

So far, about 40,000 people had been evacuated in Kedah, while in Perlis, there were about 13,000 flood evacuees.
