The much-anticipated debate between Perak exco member Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon and Perak DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham will not be taking place.

According to Dr Mah, who is also Perak MCA Youth chief, Ngeh did not reply to his deputy when contacted about the debate which was supposed to have taken place yesterday.

Dr Mah was speaking to reporters after conducting a price check on goods at the Sungai Siput market yesterday.

Earlier, there had been some confusion if this debate was ever going to take place with Dr Mah having called off the debate Friday morning when his 24-hour ultimatum to Ngeh to accept his challenge passed.

However, he received an SMS alert from a Chinese newspaper in the afternoon of that day stating that Ngeh had accepted the challenge.
