Police identify one of two suspects in shooting case

IPOH, (Bernama) — Police have identified one of the two suspects involved in a shooting case in Taman Sri Wangsa ,Batu Gajah, about 40 kilometres from here on Monday.

Batu Gajah police chief, ACP Najib Mohamad told Bernama that the case was believed to be one of revenge involving gangland rivalry and that police expected to nab the suspect soon.

In the 11.45pm incident, two of three men in a car were injured after being shot by a man riding pillion on a motorcycle.

The injured were the driver of the car K.Raja, 31 from Taman Sri Wangsa, Batu Gajah and his friend M. Paramsivan, 24, from Taman Desa Ria, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The third man who was seated in the rear passenger seat escaped unhurt.

Raja, a welder, was injured in the right shoulder while Paramasivan, a lorry driver, took a bullet in his left thigh.

The two victims have been warded at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here and their condition is reported to be stable.

One of the victims is believed to have a past criminal record. – BERNAMA
