IPOH: A travel agency has come forward to ease the financial burden of the Perak Football Association (PFA) by sponsoring a bus to ferry players and officials to away matches in the new Super League season.

The sponsorship by Arwana Travel and Tours, according to PFA president Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin, will solve the problem of having to rent a bus whenever the Perak state secretariat bus is unavailable.

“It is timely and will cut down our expenses,” said Zainol.
The bus, with two drivers, is being sponsored to the tune of RM500,000 a season, and the agency’s director Mohd Ithnain said: “This is our contribution to support the football team and also solve the association’s transport woes.”

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir officially launched the bus at the state secretariat building in Ipoh recently.

“A number of sponsors are coming to contribute in cash and kind, which will strengthen the financial status of the association,” Zamry said.
“It is now up to the team to bring back the glory days of Perak football.”
