TELUK INTAN, May 1 (Bernama) — A driver and his nephew were killed while

three others were injured, one of them seriously when a four-wheel drive vehicle

skidded and landed in a drain at Jalan Selabak-Padang Tembak here today.

Menan Raj, 21, who was behind the wheel died at the scene while his nephew,

Thivaran a/l Ragu, 7, died on the way to the Teluk Intan Hospital, said Hilir

Perak Police Chief ACP Goh Kok Liang.

He said Thivaran”s sister, Rejeltchumi, 9, and two brothers, Mugalan, 13,

and Vimal, 2, were warded at the hospital.

Rejeltchumi is in a critical condition while her brothers are in stable

condition, Goh told reporters here today.

Goh said the family was returning to Selabak from here when the vehicle

skidded on a bridge and fell into a two-metre deep drain at about 4.20pm.

Fire-fighters removed the victims, who were trapped in the vehicle, he said.
