IPOH, – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to make a two-day visit to Perak beginning Jan 13.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said during the visit Najib was expected to officially open the Farmers’, Breeders’ and Fishermen’s Day 2011/2012 in the Kerian District, Parit Buntar on Jan 14.

“The Prime Minister will make a significant announcement in the Kerian District to overcome the flood problems in the area,” he told reporters after chairing the State Exco meeting, here.

In addition, the Prime Minister was also expected to visit several other districts to look at the living condition of the people in the areas concerned.

In another development, Zambry announced the appointment of former Director-General of the Community Development Department, Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan as the new State Secretary, succeeding Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Hashim, effective Dec 30.
