MBPJ: Miscommunication or Misadministration or Simply Bad Attitude?

SELANGOR Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today admitted that there had been a lot of miscommunication behind the decision to withdraw the list of nominees from local councils.

He was referring to the cancellation of the swearing-in ceremony for MBPJ councilors at the eleventh hour last Wednesday. He assured that the Petaling Jaya mayor, Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman would accept the new list of councilors that would be issued in the next few days.

It was reported that the trouble started when Ronnie Liu, exco for Local government, Research and Development, had amended 6 out of 90 names from DAP’s recommended list without the party’s knowledge. As such, those who were strike-out went berserk when found that their names were missing from the list of nominees. This had forced the ceremony to be rescheduled for another day.

It might not be an exaggeration to refer to Ronnie Liu as a trouble-maker. In fact, it is common talk among the rakyats that Ronnie Liu is behind all the dark and secret night lives in Selangor – the Godfather of the mobsters.

But the actual trouble in Selangor’s administration couldn’t have started with just one figure. Ronnie Liu wouldn’t be able to cause trouble if Khalid Ibrahim is a better leader. And Khalid Ibrahim wouldn’t be facing any trouble if he receives the respect that any MB deserves from all parties.

The fact is, Ronnie Liu is just another typical DAP leader who simply has trouble respecting others, especially other races.

He is so used to get things his way that he didn’t see the necessity to seek anybody’s approval on the amendments and he didn’t care less if Khalid is embarrassed by his doings. Why? Perhaps, that’s just how the DAPs were brought up.

This attitude problem of DAP leaders is what causes the whole mess in Pakatan Rakyat. It is said that DAP is also behind the trouble in PAS Kedah today.

But then, to blame DAP and their brought-up alone isn’t fair. PKR and PAS must also share the blame for being so weak that DAP could make a fool out of them. PKR’s and PAS’s weaknesses combined with DAP’s arrogance is what led to a total misadministration.

An organization or a political party can never function well with the members and leaders and top leaders not respecting each other, which is exactly what the problem is, with Pakatan Rakyat.

Anwar Ibrahim, the supposed chief of PR is just another tool of DAP in reality. PAS’s President, Dato’ Seri Hadi Awang is reluctant to recognize Anwar Ibrahim as a leader but yet he obliged for the sake of his personal ambition.

Chairman of DAP, Karpal Singh or their parliamentary leader, Lim Kit Siang are known to have zero respect for PAS’s President. And Nik Aziz? Who cares about Nik Aziz? That old man can babble all he wants, but as long as he’s there, the blind supporters will always be there for Pakatan Rakyat.

And that’s just the way it is in Pakatan Rakyat where courtesy and respect is seen as ancient as the Malaysian Law on homosexuals. Which is why, Ronnie Liu didn’t even think twice to bypass his masters in amending the nominee list or why Phahrolrazi didn’t think at all when he shouted rudely at Azizan.

The truth is, should these badly brought-up people made it to Putrajaya, we will forever have to deal with their confusion of who has more power than who and who has no power at all. And we can be rest assured that the country will definitely be in a total chaos in the hands of the ‘powerfools’.
