Reshuffle in RMN’S Top Leadership

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 29 (Bernama) — The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) will undergo a major reshuffle in its top leadership, involving five major portfolios.

Its Public Relations Officer, Lt Commander Masliza Maaris, in a statement today, said among those involved in the resuffle were Rear Admiral Datuk Abdul Hadi A. Rashid, who would assume the post of Fleet Commander of the Lumut Naval Base in Perak and be promoted to Vice-Admiral.

She said First Admiral Datuk Pahlawan Mohammad Roslan Omar would also assume the post of Region 2 Commander at Teluk Sepanggar Naval Base and be promoted to Rear Admiral. First Admiral Abd Aziz Mohd Sani, on the other hand, will assume the post of Assistant Commander at the Lumut Naval Base while Rear Admiral Datuk Anuwi Hassan will assume the post of Assistant Chief of Staff (Operations and Defence) at the Armed Forces Heaquarters, Ministry of Defence (Mindef), shesaid.

“Rear Admiral Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman will assume the post of Assistant Chief of Staff (Planning and Operations) at Navy headquarters, Mindef,” she  said.

The reshuffle is being made following the retirement of several senior naval officers including Vice-Admiral Datuk Wira Jamil Osman and Rear Admiral Datuk Musa Omar.

The handing-over of duties ceremony, which will be witnessed by Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar, is scheduled for tomorrow at the Lumut Naval Base. Two navy captains will also be promoted to First Admiral while five commanders will be promoted to Captains.
