Felda Gives RM10,000 To Siamese Twins

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 – The Siamese twins separated in a delicate operation by Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) on July 14 today received contribution from Felda Holdings Berhad.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Ahmad Maslan presented RM10,000 to their father, Azli Sarban, at HKL here.

“We hope this aid from Felda Welfare Fund will ease the family’s burden. Felda has a fund to help settlers in need but in unique cases like this, we also help the Felda generation,” he told reporters after the visit.

Established in 1973, Felda Welfare Fund had given financial aid to settlers in need with RM10,000 being the maximum amount given.

Ahmad who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Noraini Sulaiman also donated feeding equipment to 15 month-old twins, Muaiman and Muaimin.

The boys from Felda Kemanis, Segamat, Johor were connected at the pelvis and shared three feet, anus, penis and two bladder.

Azli, 40, said he will use the contribution for the cost of follow-up examination for his two sons.

“I am grateful for the contribution by Felda. Ahamdullilah, their condition has also improved. We have to stay in KLH for three months for follow-up examination,” he added.

Azli and his wife, Nazilah Abdullah, 38, has two daughters aged two years and one month.
