10-day wait for K-Pop fans

PETALING JAYA: K-Pop Storm Live in Malaysia 2012 fans have been told to wait 10 days for updates on ticket refunds.

The concert’s Facebook page had a post saying it was following up with the South Korean organiser, Happy Entertainment, over the refund date.

“We will try our best to give you the news within the first week of December,” it said yesterday.

Happy Entertainment called off the show a day before the scheduled Nov 6 concert at Sunway Lagoon after Korean radio station WBS, which initiated the concert, pulled out following a disagreement between the two parties.

The K-Pop Storm concert was to be the biggest in Malaysia with nine K-pop groups – SHINee, No Brain, U-Kiss, Teen Top, Block B, Girls Day, DalShabet, D-Unit and The Gwagdae.

The Facebook message said Happy Entertainment was still facing problems with WBS and this was affecting ticket refunds.

It asked fans to stay tuned for updates in the next 10 days.

WBS, on its website, said it had terminated the deal with Happy Entertainment as of Nov 1 due to a “breach of contract”.

The cancellation sparked an uproar among disappointed fans with many expressing their displeasure on Facebook.

While some said they were willing to wait for a refund, others vented their frustration at the delay.

Sue Sua said: “What? Still want (us) to wait 10 days? Just a simple refund (and they) need more than a month to process. What a bad system! Hope you keep you(r) promise after 10 days and have a(n) answer!”

Another fan, Ivy Chock, said: “First week of December and that’s it. The entertainment company is taking too long. This matter should’ve been solved within the first seven days! Do you know how cheated we feel?”
