Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin blasted Air Asia X chief executive Azran Osman Rani for labelling Utusan Malaysia as a racist newspaper.

During his turn to debate the motion of thanks on the Royal address, Bung Mokhtar called Azran a “Melayu biadap” (rude Malay) and that he doesn’t deserve to be a citizen.

“Leave this country and go live anywhere else you like,” he roared on Tuesday.

However, Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia pointed out to Bung Mokhtar that he should not use the privilege to speak in the Dewan Rakyat to criticise civilians and government officials who were unable to use the same platform to defend themselves.

Azran came under fire over a statement made in his Twitter account where he criticised the Malay daily for what he saw as racial instigation in the aftermath of the May 5 polls.

This view came following a front-page report in the newspaper, which carried the headline “Apa Lagi China Mahu?” (What more the Chinese want?).
