So, instead of walking to your car, fire up you computer, smartphone or tablet and point your browser to the Smart Online Travel assistant’s (SOTA’s) Virtual Travel Fair (VTF) to start planning your holiday, practically fuss-free.
The online travel fair, which is held bi-annually is organised by Creative Advances Technology (CAT) Sdn Bhd with the support of your favourite news portal, The Star Online, kicks off tomorrow.
VTF is better and bigger this time as the organiser has roped in Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways to offer exclusive discounted flight fares to Paris, Istanbul, Doha and many other destinations.
“The packages are not necessarily the cheapest but what users can expect unique and more varieties to suit their needs,” said Rohizam Md Yusoff, CAT’s chief executive officer.
“There will be close to 2,000 holiday packages with more international destinations like Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and India.”
This is also the first time the organiser will be making an app available for Android devices which will automatically alert users to the best daily deals till the fair ends on Oct 10. The app will be available for free from the Google Play store starting Sept 29.
The app is handy for those who want to go on a holiday but don’t have a specific destination in mind yet, said Joanna Liao, CAT’s chief marketing officer.
“There will also be holiday packages to cater for those on a tight budget to destinations like Phuket, Koh Samui and even Bali for less than RM500,” she said.
But that’s not all — SOTA will also have e-auction where visitors can bid for travel packages, theme park tickets and hotel accommodation from as low as RM10. You can also try your hand at playing SOTA’s online game, Tag the Bag.
Prizes will be given out weekly to the top three winners for five consecutive weeks.
