The latest version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 will go on sale here on Nov 7.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) was first announced at the IFA Berlin along with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear.

While the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear have been launched, the Note 10.1 was not released simultaneously here in Malaysia.

At the recent soft launch here, Samsung held a product workshop for the members of the media and we got our first look at the tablet.

The Note 10.1 tablet is powered by a 2.3Ghz quad-core processor with 3GB memory, and with high speed LTE connectivity.

Samsung has upgraded the main camera to 8-megapixel with auto focus and LED flash while the front camera will be a 2-megapixel shooter.

The S-pen is slightly larger than the previous version and has new features such as the Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder, while existing apps like S Note and S Planner have received huge improvements.

Most of the functions and apps found in the Note 3 can be seen in the Note 10.1 as both devices are the latest offerings from Samsung.

The faux leather back cover feature of the Galaxy Note 3 is also evident on the Note 10.1.

The battery has received a boost in its juice capacity as it now stands at 8220mAh, a huge leap from its predecessor which has a 7000mAh one.

Currently only both Note devices, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, are compatible devices with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch as it needs to be connected to Samsung devices which run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

For the Malaysian market, only the 32GB version is available, which is priced at RM2,299 with two colour choices – Jet Black and Classic White.
