YAN: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has opened up a round the clock operation centre to support the Sungai Limau by-election on polling day.

Energy, Green Technology and Water deputy minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said on Saturday that the operation room would be managed by three TNB officers and assisted by a three-person technical team.

“TNB has also prepared 18 portable generators to be placed at polling and counting centres,” he told newsmen after attending TNB briefing on power supply in SK Sungai Limau here.

Mahdzir said the portable generators are back-ups in case of power failures.

He said a 1,000 kilowatt portable generator would be placed at the counting centre in SMK Agama Yan while 1.5 kilowatt generators would be placed at 17 polling centres.

The polling day for the Sungai Limau by-election is on Sunday, and it will see 27,222 voters hitting the polls.
