Tenaga back in spotlight, nudges KLCI higher


KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional regained favour among investors after the recent profit taking as its early gains helped nudge the FBM KLCI higher on Wednesday.

At 9.02am, the KCLI was up 4.15 points to 1,829.26. Turnover was 46.52 million shares valued at RM21.31mil. There were 123 gainers, 45 losers and 132 counters unchanged.

Hwang DBS Vickers Research (HDBSVR) said a technical rebound could be forthcoming following a five-day losing streak on our Malaysian bourse.

“The benchmark FBM KLCI – which has retreated 47.4-point or 2.5% since last Monday – may pull away from the immediate support level of 1,825 as sentiment gets a boost from an overnight rise on Wall Street (whose key equity indices ended 0.6%-1.0% higher),” it said in its market outlook.

Tenaga rose 36 sen to RM11.48 whike Public Bank foreign added 14 sen to RM19.18. BAT was the top gainer, rising 46 sen to RM62.58 with 400 shares done while Eco World gained 12 sen to RM4.59.

Nestle fell the most, down 48 sen to RM67,52 while CMSB lost 18 sen to RM7.21. RHB Cap fell four sen to RM7.91 while Maybank and Sime Darby shed three sen each to RM9.93 and RM9.35.
