Isma president claims trial to sedition charge

KAJANG: Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman has pleaded not guilty to a sedition charge over his “Chinese trespassers” remark.

Abdullah Zaik, 48, claimed trial at Kajang Sessions Court Thursday before judge Nor Hazani Hamzah.

He was charged for committing the offence at Isma headquarters in Bangi on May 6 under the Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948.

Abdullah Zaik also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge that caused the remarks to be published on Isma’s website on the same day, under the Section 4(1)(c) of the same act.
