SHAH ALAM: At a loss over how to console her daughter, Intan Maizura Othman, 34, has arranged for Iman, 5, to meet with a counsellor next month.

Iman has been dreaming regularly of her father, Mohd Hazrin Hasnan, 35, who disappeared without a trace on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 along with 238 crew and passengers on March 8.

“She (Iman) dreams of her father often and in her dreams, he will hug her and tell her ‘I love you’.

“When she wakes up, she will start crying.

“I am at my wit’s end on how to handle her,” Intan Maizura told Women, Family and Community Developement Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim at her home in Alam Impian, here, yesterday.

She also said her daughter frequently slept with Mohd Hazrin’s shirt and photo.

“She has always been close to her father,” she said, adding that Iman’s constant crying was what spurred her to reach out to a counsellor to help her daughter.

The first appointment is set for Aug 4.

As for herself, Intan Maizura said she was still full of questions as to what happened to the plane and her husband.

“I just want to know what, where and when, there is no closure now.”

Due to the acute sense of loss, this Hari Raya will be a low-key celebration for the family as she has no plans to return to her hometown but instead will celebrate with family members in Shah Alam.

Meanwhile, Intan Maizura also shared that MAS had approved her application for leave after
her two-month maternity leave ended.

She is currently on three-months unpaid leave.

Earlier in a tweet, she had declared that she was contemplating quitting her job as a MAS flight attendant.

However, she admitted yesterday that she had not thought about any future occupation yet.

Rohani’s visit yesterday was in conjunction with Hari Raya and the minister presented Mohd Hazrin’s grieving wife with green packets and a festive greeting card.

Present at the visit were the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Sabariah Hassan and Social Welfare Department director-general Datuk Norani Mohd Hashim.
