IGP promises action against woman in viral video

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will act againt the woman who allegedly bullying and threatening an elderly man using a car steering lock.

The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the incident which was recorded by a road user and had gone viral on the Net will be investigated.

“I just saw the video and we will treat this as road bully case,” he said.

Yesterday, a video of a woman with a steering lock in her hands went trending on the Net in the blink of an eye.

The woman, believed to be in her early 20s, was upset when her car was hit by an elderly man in a Proton Wira near a shopping mall in Kuantan.

Unable to control her emotions, the young woman began to shout and scolded the elderly driver in his early 60s who remained calm throughout the ordeal.

The 2-minute commotion saw the woman snatching the old man’s car key while banging his car bonnet with her car steering lock a couple of time.

“This is a new car! You see what you did to my car now, pay me now, two thousand,” she screamed to the man.

The woman then told the people around to called the police.

The action outraged netizens, some exposing the women’s identity, her car plate number and creating parodies by using a car steering lock while some expressed their disappointment over the incident.
