KUALA LUMPUR: ?Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim settled his defamation suit against Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed and the government.

Senior federal counsel Zureen Elina Mohd Dom, acting for Abu Kassim and the government, said an explanation was published on the MACC online portal on Aug 23 as part of settlement terms.

“He(Abdul Khalid) has discontinued the action(suit),” she said, adding that High Court judge Datuk Hue Siew Kheng made no order to cost during the chamber matter today.

Counsel K. Muralidharan acted for Abdul Khalid, who was not present at court.

Abdul Khalid filed the suit last year, claiming he was defamed by an MACC interview with one Airos Shahidin Manaf which was then disseminated in the local and foreign press.
