Musa Apology Settles RM100mil Suit

SHAH ALAM: Former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan apologised in open court to settle a RM100 million defamation suit by businessman Tan Sri Robert Phang Miow Sin.

The former top cop read out the written apology today before High Court judicial commissioner Datuk Rozana Ali Yusoff.

Rozana ordered defendant Musa to pay RM10,000 cost to plaintiff Phang.

Phang, who filed the suit in Jan last year, claimed Musa said defamatory words during a MyWatch press conference that implied he was not honest, untrustworthy, unethical and corrupt.

He claimed the words were pre-meditated to smear him.

Phang had sought compensatory, aggravated, and exemplary damages, as well as costs and any other relief deemed fit by the court.

Phang was represented by counsel S.N. Nair while Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abd Rahman acted for Musa.
