IPOH: Two people were killed while another was seriously injured in an accident involving two lorries here late last night.

The three were traveling inside a lorry ferrying paint while the other lorry was ferrying rice.

The accident happened at Km265.8 of the North South Expressway near the Menora tunnel.

It is learnt that in the 11pm incident, all three were trapped inside their vehicle after it lost control and rammed into the back of the other vehicle.

The accident caused all the paint containers and rice to fall onto the road, resulting in a massive traffic jam.

A spokesman from the Meru Raya fire station said they received a call about 11.20pm and rushed to the scene for rescue works.

Meanwhile, a PLUS spokesman said the accident caused a 7km crawl.

Motorists were asked to enter the Kuala Kangsar toll before exiting at the Ipoh toll.
