Dad: Jilted man who killed my girl has violent nature

JITRA: The suspect in remand over the death of an undergraduate who had her throat slit, had been harassing her since she was in Form Five.

Nursyuhada’s father Johari Hashim even lodged a police report against him four years ago for disturbing his daughter.

But, the harassing continued and the 20-year-old student of Universiti Teknologi Mara in Permatang Pauh paid the ultimate price.

Johari, 55, said the suspect was from the same village who had wanted to be in a relationship with Nursyhada.

“This did not happen as he was a suspected drug addict.”

Johari said at one time, the suspect was aggressive, breaking down the door to his house in Taman Hosba here, before running off with his daughter in a car.

However, Johari said, his family managed to find her and bring her back.

But, not on that fateful Monday.

“I never thought the suspect would be capable of such violence,” Johari said.

“I was shocked when my daughter’s classmate contacted my wife, telling her that our daughter had gotten into the suspect’s car,” he said.

Johari said the suspect threatened to stab Nursyuhada if she refused to get into his vehicle.

“I want him punished for what he did to my Nursyuhada.”

Johari said the last time he saw his daughter was in early January when he dropped her off at the bus station in Shahab Perdana, Alor Setar. She was returning to the university campus.

Nursyuhada was buried at the Muslim cemetery in Kampung Cherok Mokkan here at 11am yesterday.

Taiping district acting police chief Supt Ismail Che Isa said the suspect was under remand.-thestar
