PM launches new HQ for Perbadanan Nasional Bhd

KUALA LUMPUR: Businesses which relied less on government assistance tend to perform better, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.

As such, the prime minister said, it was important for business owners and entrepreneurs to stop depending on others and instead rely on their own skills to achieve success.

“It is a paradox… We find that businesses that receive less assistance from the government are much more likely to succeed.

“This is because their owners have invested their own capital. When we use our own funds, we will work harder to be successful,” he said.

Najib was speaking at the launch of Menara PNS, the new headquarters of Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS), a government agency tasked with developing the country’s franchise industry.

He said PNS’s academic training centre, housed in the new building, would play a key role in helping Malaysia’s franchise businesses succeed.

“Franchise owners must be fluent in multiple topics, including rules and regulations, contract law, marketing, quality control and bookkeeping.

“They must also ensure that they provide their customers with a memorable experience to ensure franchise loyalty.”
