KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actor Izzue Islam’s “no touching” policy with his female co-stars continues to be an issue as the latest rumour suggests.
In the latest gossip, his wife and manager Nurinafilah Waharudin or Awin, has been said to be very controlling that she had unprofessionally disrupted a scene involving Izzue and a female cast at a filming set.
When asked the Kelantan-born artiste about it, he totally dismissed it.
“When we heard it, we were also perplexed. The ‘no touching’ ruling has been around for some time and all production houses who intend to offer me acting jobs have been made aware of this,” he said when met at the launch of smart mobile phone Vivo at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre recently.
“Every time I get approached for a project, I’ll check with them if they’re okay with the rule before proceeding. No one questions it because they know,” said Izzue, who is also a member of male vocal group Forteen.
The 25-year-old said therefore, the rumour that her wife “made a scene” was impossible to take place since the production crew has been informed about the ruling.
At this juncture, Awin, 33, said that this issue kept being brought up because she is both his manager and wife. “I’m the one who inform these production houses about this rule so some people might perceive me as the jealous wife.
If I’m just the manager and not someone who’s romantically linked to him, I don’t think this is even a problem.” Awin has been Izzue’s manager and personal assistant even before they tied the knot in 2013.
And she is not about to throw in the towel because of some rumours. “I need her to continue to be my manager. I need her to be near me or I won’t be able to do my work,” said Izzue.
Meanwhile, besides filming telemovies and hosting for HyppTV, the actor is busy selling Raya cookies under his own brand Izzuelicious Delicious Homemade.
They are on sale at a booth at the Tesco Mutiara Damansara’s parking lot, and it is Izzue’s second year selling Raya cookies.
“Thankfully, the response has been overwhelming. We received orders even before Ramadan started,” he said, adding that Choco Crumple, Crunchy Minchy and Cherry Chip are his top-selling cookies.
