Police seek Thai cooperation to question Xavier Justo: IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police are expected to meet with their Thai counterparts on July 2 for a discussion on the PetroSaudi International ex-official, Xavier Andre Justo who is held by the Thai police over attempted blackmail and extortion against the company.

Inspector General-Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the police have also requested for a chance to question the Swiss national before deciding if any action should be taken against him. “Discussions will be held when the Thailand’s deputy police chief visits the country on July 2.

For now, let them finish their work,” he said. Khalid added that police will later decide on the next course of action after the Thai police have completed their investigation on Justo.

Last week, The Royal Thai Police’s crime suppression division arrested the former executive of the Saudi-based international company.

Meanwhile, commenting on the investigation on Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara)’s purchase of a property in Melbourne, Australia, Khalid said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) are investigating the matter.

“We do not see any CBT (Criminal breach of trust) element involved in the case, so MACC is handling the matter,” he said.
