KUALA LUMPUR: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today urged all parties to refrain from making speculations on allegations made against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak concerning the issues surrounding 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
“Don’t jump the gun by punishing the prime minister as the claims have yet to be verified. “Do not speculate on the 1MDB issue because it will only worsen the situation.
“I agree that this is a serious allegation that has attracted a lot of attention and prompt action must be taken,” he said in a statement, adding that he too wanted to know the truth.
Hishammuddin said he believed that the taskforce comprising the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the police and Bank Negara would conduct its investigations promptly, fairly and without prejudice.
