TELUK INTAN: Another 14 bodies from the Sabak Bernam boat tragedy were spotted between 7am and 11am today, with two of them had already been retrieved and brought to Hutan Melintang jetty.

The discovery has brought the total number of fatalities to 43.

Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the two bodies arrived at the jetty about 10am while the rest were expected to be brought to the jetty in the next few hours.

He said all the bodies were found about 8 nautical miles from the spot where the boat was believed to have capsized.

“We believe that one of the victims, whose body was already brought to the jetty, is a woman based on what she wore,” he said.
