KUALA TERENGGANU: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman officiated the state level of National Sport Day 2015, held at the Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sports Complex in University Malaysia Terengganu today.
Attended the event were State Secretary Datuk Othman Muda and State Sports, Youth and Human Resources commity chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat and another 2,000 students, civil servants and community leaders.
Ahmad Razif said more than 130, 000 people from various backgrounds in the state were participated in the event held at their respective places to promote healthy living.
Several sports such as aerobics, jogging and marathon were held in conjunction with the event.
“It was important to create awareness among people of being active in sports to enable them in setting society which practices a healthy lifestyle,” he said to reporters after the event.
He said following that a gymnasium rakyat will be built at every districts near the rehabilitation centres in the near future.
“We are serious in increasing the awareness on the benefits of sports ,” he said adding that at present, four rehabilitation centres were located at Seberang Takir, Batu Rakit , AlMuktafi Billah Shah (Dungun) and Bukit Besi.
