Msia’s security upgraded to optimum level following Paris attacks: DPM

KUALA LUMPUR: The nation’s security has been increased to optimum level to ensure the safety of the people, following the horrific terror attacks in Paris yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Home Ministry will also deploy more security personnel in conjunction with the 27th Asean Summit being held here next week.

“We will deploy more security personnel during next week’s Asean Summit to ensure the safety of all foreign leaders and delegates.

“We have increased our security to an optimum level,” said Zahid, after launching the rebranding of the People’s Progressive Party to myPPP, here today.

Zahid, who is also Home Minister, gave his assurance that anyone found involved in terrorist activities in the country would be subject to the law including the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012, Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015 and the Criminal Procedure Code.

Yesterday, series of coordinated attacked by suicide bombers and gunmen in Paris killed at least 128 people at the Bataclan concert hall, a restaurant and outside the Stade De France.-nst
