Flood situation in Terengganu improves

KUALA TERENGGANU: Flood situation has improved in the state as more evacuees are expected to return home soon.

As at 8.30am today, only 938 evacuees from 228 families were still sheltering at 14 relief centres in Dungun and Kemaman.

The numbers reduced compared to 1,384 evacuees from 361 families sheltered at 17 relief centres last night.

State Welfare Department portal stated that Kemaman recorded the highest number of evacuees with 719 people from 161 families at 11 relief centres.

Dungun recorded a total of 219 evacuees from 67 families in three relief centres namely Dewan Sivik Pasir Raja, Dewan Kampung Syukur and Pusat Kraftangan Jongok Batu.-nst
