Woman accused of slicing off husband’s penis changes plea to “not guilty”

KUALA PILAH: A 51-year-old woman who was accused of slicing off her husband’s penis today changed her plea to ‘not guilty’ at the Sessions Court.

Fatimah Abdullah pleaded not guilty to slicing off her husband’s genitals at Batu Kikir, Jempol, near here. Fatimah made the plea after the interpreter indicated the charge against her before Judge Sazlina Safie.

Fatimah was charged with committing the act at a house in Batu Kikir, Jempol at 1.20am on Jan 20.

The accused was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury by a dangerous weapon to her Pakistani husband, Umar Rahman, 44, with a knife.

She is liable to a maximum 20 years’ jail, fine or whipping under the law.

Sazlina set April 11 for re-mention pending the victim’s medical report.

Deputy public prosecutor Nabilah Mohammad Zainudin and Nik Azhan Nik Mahmood appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by Parmjit Singh, Gunamalar Joorindanjn and Shamsher Singh.-nst
