Actress surprised by minister’s remarks

ACTRESS Nora Danish has admitted that she was surprised with Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz’s remarks that he had no objection to any marriage plan between her and his son.

“I was really shocked. There are so many things out there, why must he be asked about his son?” said Nora.

She has been dating Nedim Nazri, who is a son of the Tourism and Culture Minister.

Last week, Nazri was reported to have said that both Nora and Nedim, who were both divorcees, were free to marry each other and that he, as the father, was not picky about this.

“Although he has given his blessings to us, I do not dare to respond to his comments. No matter what, I must respect him as a minister,” she told Kosmo!

Nora, 33, said she would not brush aside the possibility that they would tie the knot this year.

“I willl leave our fate to God,” she said, adding also that she had just returned from Iceland for a shoot of a tudung collection known as OwlbyND.

“I had opted for Iceland for the shoot as I was captivated by the Bollywood movie Dilwale which was done there.”

> A boy who was born abnormally small has marked his 13th birthday, defying medical odds that he would not survive beyond his first week.

Muhammad Iezad Mohamed Rosli was afflicted with Edward’s Syndrome, a genetic disorder, Berita Harian reported.

The bed-ridden boy, who lives near Batu Pahat, is unable to talk and suffers from other complications such as stunted growth.

“Each day, my family and I would worry whether Ijad (as he is known) will continue to breath when he wakes up,” said his mother Norlanda Sahran, 40, a former teacher.

> Utusan Malaysia ran a letter from a reader who asked whether Muslim women these days were wearing the tudung in accordance with the religion or merely following a trend.

The sender, Nor Aina Abd Samad of Negri Sembilan, said she had observed that the tudung now was found in many different colours and designs.

Many of these women, she said, were merely following the style of celebrities in the way they covered their head.

“My advice to tudung designers is that they should understand the concept of covering the aurat before they come up with new designs,” she wrote.-thestar
