Otai Reformis want Amanah to contest in by-elections

KUALA LUMPUR: Otai Reformis, a non-governmental organisation, is urging Pakatan Harapan to let Parti Amanah Negara compete in the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections.

Treasurer cum spokesperson for the group Shaiful Ariffin today said Amanah’s presence in Pakatan Harapan was better than that of Pas.

“We, along with a number of other NGOs urge Pakatan Harapan to be strengthened by sending Amanah candidates to run for both parliamentary seats.

“The basis of this is that we feel their presence in replacing Pas supports the hope of Malaysians,” he said.

This opportunity, Shaiful added, was from Allah and the two seats must be given to Amanah candidates to prove the party was in support of the majority Malay group of the constituencies.

“Amanah is a relevant party that will bring the Muslim democratic philosophy now and in the future. We believe the responsibility must be given to Parti Amanah Negara.”

He said the party’s commanding leaders give an alternative to the people of a strong opposition.

“We should not waste their efforts today so we are urging them to spearhead Pakatan at the by-elections.”

The polling day for both the Kuala Kangsar (P.067) and Sungai Besar (P.093) by-elections will be held simultaneously on June 18.-nst
