Heavily pregnant woman tests positive for meth use in drug raid

KUANTAN: A pregnant woman was among nine people detained during an operation by state National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) early this morning.

In the 1am operation held at Rented Public Housing (PRS) project in Kampung Pak Mahat, the seven-month pregnant woman, aged 24, tested positive for methamphetamine.

An AADK officer said the woman was arrested when she was trying to find out about her husband who was nabbed earlier.

“When we asked her to do a urine test, she claimed that she was clean and did not take any drugs. “However the test proved otherwise.”

The husband, who also tested positive for methamphetamine, came to her defence. Incredibly, her husband claimed that his wife was innocent, and only tested positive because he “blew methamphetamines into her face.”

The husband and wife together with another seven, with the youngest being 16 years-old, were brought to the AADK office in Indera Mahkota for further investigation.

The AADK officers then continued the operation at the Kuantan port area.

A press conference is expected to be held later today at 2pm.-nst
