Pagoh Umno rejects Muhyiddin’s sacking

PAGOH: The Pagoh Umno division has rejected the party’s Supreme Council’s decision to sack former deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin from the party.

The decision was made following a special meeting by the division committee here today.

In a statement read by the division’s information chief Khairul Izam Abd Samad, the division said the Supreme Council’s decision was not made according to the proper procedure as stated in the party’s constitution, namely Chapter 20 (discipline).

“Muhyiddin was never called to defend himself against the allegations made against him.

“Muhyiddin was elected as the party deputy president and Pagoh Umno chief by party members, so the Supreme Council is betraying the members by making this decision,” said Khairul Izam.

He said Muhyiddin has also been denied the right and opportunity to speak and carry out his duties as the deputy president, forcing him to use the platforms of non-governmental organisations to continue his struggles.
